Intermediate Shooting Skills

Intermediate-level shooters are given the time and instruction to learn, build, and master their handgun shooting skills.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

In this 2-hour live-fire course, you will become more proficient with your handgun and learn new skills which will prepare you for real-world situations. This course is especially helpful for home defense and building confidence. It will also prepare you for more advanced courses.

While fundamentals and safety are always part of your curriculum, in Intermediate Shooting Skills you will learn the following:

• Pistol manipulation
• Pistol shooting drills
• Reloading fundamentals
• Safety conditions
• Shooting with your dominant and non-dominant hand
• Common pistol malfunctions

This course was designed to repeat multiple times so you can progressively improve on your skills.

This course is taught by firearms instructors who are certified in Marksmanship Coaching, Concealed Carry and Home Defense, and Defensive Shooting.

PREREQUISITES

Students taking this course will have previously attended one or all of the following:

• Basic Pistol / Concealed Carry Course
• Shooting Fundamentals

Students must be legally eligible to handle a firearm.

AGE REQUIREMENT

Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

• Instruction by a Nationally Certified Firearms Instructor
• Range fees
• It is recommended that you use your own firearm; however, the use of a firearm can be provided if you have not purchased your own (select a free loaner handgun at checkout). You will need to provide ammunition for the firearm; this must be purchased before class begins.

SUPPLY LIST

Students are required to bring the following supplies:

• Functional handgun
• 2-3 magazines for semi-automatic pistols
• Safety glasses (available to borrow)
• Hearing protection (available to borrow)
• 100 to 150 rounds of ammunition for your firearm. This must be purchased before class begins. .22, 9mm, and .40 cal are available to purchase in the classroom; please arrive 10 minutes early to the classroom to make your purchase.
