The Kivett Bednar Band delivers a powerful, modern take on the blues, combining deep roots, soulful musicianship, and high-energy performances. Frontman Kivett Bednar grew up in Austin, Texas, surrounded by the sounds of one of America’s great blues and roots music cities. He discovered the blues through his father’s record collection, developing an early appreciation for the guitarists, singers, and songwriters who shaped the tradition. After moving to Portland, Oregon, in 2012, Kivett became part of the Pacific Northwest blues community and developed his own distinctive voice as a guitarist, singer, and songwriter.
The Kivett Bednar Band was named Best New Act at the 2024 Muddy Awards and Best Contemporary Blues Act in 2026. The band also won the 2026 Journey to Memphis and will represent the Cascade Blues Association at the 2027 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee.
The lineup features Oregon native and Berklee College of Music graduate Jeff Langston on bass; 2026 Muddy Award Best Drummer winner Edwin Coleman III; and Pat McDougall on organ and keys, a multi-award-winning artist and songwriter who performs with some of Portland’s most prominent acts.
Andy Moore is a Portland , Oregon based blues singer and harmonica player.
Originally from Tennessee, Andy is a veteran performer of both Memphis’ Beale Street , Lower Broadway in Nashville, and clubs across the South.
Andy has appeared on stage and performed with blues and roots artists such as Rattle Snake Mama, Justin Townes Earle , North Mississippi All Stars, Kivett Bednar Band, Curtis Salgado, Chris Daniels & The Kings, Mitch Kashmar, and many more.
