Portland State University's choirs are amongst the finest in the nation! They have won over 30 medals and awards at International Choir Competitions on four separate continents including being the only American Choir ever to win the Seghizzi International Choral Contest in Italy in 2013 and the Bali International Choral Festival (Asia's largest choral gathering) in Indonesia in 2017. Their 2017 album The Doors of Heaven is the only University choral album ever to hit #1 on the Billboard Classical Chart and their 2020 album Translations was named an Album of the Year by both Gramophone and Stereophile.

The Portland State Chamber Choir, Rose Choir and Thorn Choir are so excited to sing for a live audience for the first time since March 2020! As the title suggests, the singers are all fully vaccinated and ready to sing for you outdoors at The Lot at Zidell Yards. Seats are available in pods of 2, 4 and 6 and each pod is at least 6-feet distant from adjacent pods. Tickets can also be purchased to watch the concert on a livestream from your home.

The concert includes our usual eclectic mix of Classical greats like Sergei Rachmaninoff; modern masters like Arvo Part, Ola Gjeilo and Elaine Hagenberg; folk and spiritual arrangements by Jocelyn Hagen, David Morrow and Moses Hogan, plus world music from Haiti, Syria and Bulgaria, Gospel music, and our signature arrangement of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah.
