Sprung from the exurban sprawl of the I-95 corridor, Joe Shade writes catchy hook-laden songs that pull together diverse influences from classic British pop along with American rock, country and folk. His songs are his attempt to process the world in which we live. A world of crooked mirrors and bursting bubbles where it can be a struggle to comprehend the whole, even as time itself accelerates. From a very young age, Anthony Carroll could be seen playing his kid guitar in front of the television, whether it was the Glen Campbell or Johnny Cash Shows. By the time he discovered his parents’ copy of “Meet the Beatles” it was game over. Music became his mainstay and passion.

Playing in various local bands throughout the years, Anthony now enjoys playing with a revolving and evolving cast of musicians, playing a variety of genres ranging from Classic Rock to Americana to original tunes. Whether strapping on a guitar, slinging a bass, or sitting behind the drum kit, he strives to put a smile on every audience member’s face and bring joy to their soul through music.
