For over 25 years, longtime musical collaborators Scott Baston and Bill Jarrett have tossed around the dream of performing the music from Paul Simon’s Concert in the Park—a record that has inspired them from their early Moonshine Still days through years of shared stages, songwriting, and musical exploration.
Now, that idea finally lands where it always belonged—at The Charleston Pour House. On December 13, The Headstrings Collective presents Call Me Al, a special evening celebrating and reimagining Paul Simon’s timeless arrangements and the spirit of that legendary Central Park performance.
Many in the Charleston community already know The Headstrings Collective from their rotating lineup of heartfelt, high-energy Monday Muse shows on the Pour House deck—where Scott and Bill have curated a musical family that grows each week. This concert brings that same open-hearted spirit to the main stage, featuring a remarkable collective of musicians including Corey Stephens, Oleg Terentiev, Jeremy Johnson, Charlie Kendall, Lauren Warlick, Aaron Rubinstein, Jamal Hall, Patrick Marzett, Sean Bing, and more to be announced.
We invite you to join us for this moment of gratitude, celebration, and shared musical joy—an evening honoring the work of Paul Simon, often described as the Picasso of Western music. Come be part of the experience as these songs are lifted once again into community and color, with love and intention.
*Show is 21+. Attendees under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Attendees under 21 will be subject to a $5 surcharge. The surcharge must be paid in cash at the door on the day of the event.
