**Doors 6:30 PM, Music starts at 7 PM.
The Front Porch invites you to a special evening of music and community, with a concert dedicated to our partnership with Hospice of The Piedmont. Local Musicians Devon Sproule and Clara George will share songs, stories, and experiences from their work providing music for Hospice care patients, and welcome conversation and questions from the audience after their set.
~About The Partnership~
Since 1980, Hospice of the Piedmont has been leading families in Virginia through the experience of serious illness and death. They're a community-based nonprofit, meaning they offer the broadest range of services to the widest number of people possible, no matter what it takes.
The Front Porch is deeply honored to partner with Hospice of the Piedmont, by sending our teaching artists to locations currently including RoseWood Village, Linden House, and The Blake. Music is powerful, especially in the way it impacts our brain. We know that music can have a transformative impact on our mood, emotions, and memory. It becomes even more powerful if brain function is declining. Through Devon and Clara's incredible work and dedication, The Front Porch is honored to empower, connect, and provide peace to those at the end of their lives.
~About The Artists~
Devon Sproule works in songwriting, instrument-learning, and hospice music at The Front Porch and MIMA Music. She and her husband Paul Curreri make music on Patreon and every once in a while she records an album and goes on tour like the old days. She can tie her shoes really fast and in another geekier life would have been a board game / martial arts / birding enthusiast.
Clara George wears many hats as a musician; she can be found working as a hospice musician, songwriter, performer, utility musician, and teacher. When Clara isn't picking her banjo or writing a new song, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and gardening.
