Dear Jazz Friends:
Mark your calendars for Thursday, April 27th to help us celebrate the first anniversary of Jazz at the Post!
Over 20 of our favorite performers, including Brian Marsella, David Morgan, Sarah Cion, Mike Mossman, Tim Horner, Phil Bowler, Rob Henke, Joe Corsello, Dave Childs, Kenny Wessel, and Rale Micic, David DeJesus, and many more, have volunteered their time that night to play for you to show their commitment to Jazz in Westport, and entice you to match their enthusiasm by supporting the work of JazzFC.
It's been a fantastic year at VFW Post 399 for JazzFC, CT's premier jazz presenting and outreach nonprofit. The acoustics are terrific, the vibe is just right, the piano we own and restored, originally from the Village Gate, has never sounded better, and after 8 years of Jazz in Westport, everyone agrees that this is absolutely the best venue yet!
Tickets for the night begin at $100 per person, with higher levels available for our supporters and benefactors. Non stop music and festive dinner included! Cocktails, liquor, beer, wine , and soft drinks available.
Help us celebrate and raise funds so we can increase our capacity to serve our neighbors here in Fairfield County. Chef Derek will have a special celebration menu, his best and most elaborate yet, and quite fitting for such a significant milestone. The music will continue nonstop until the wee hours... (in Westport, that means well past 10 pm!). There will be special pricing for the evening so we can fulfill our mission to bring the best of jazz to our community.
You have already supported our outreach activities by attending regularly and the word is spreading with growing audiences each week. We will be underwriting a new series of clinics for Westport students conducted by headlining Jazz at the Post artists. (These will take place on May 11 and 25, and the students will have the opportunity to perform as the opening act for that evening's Jazz masters!)
We seek to increase these activities and broaden our relationship with after school programs in Bridgeport and Norwalk, as well as partner with senior centers and other facilities serving the underserved.
We also endeavor to plan a series of workshops for area amateur and pre-professional musicians to give them the opportunity to learn first-hand from experienced jazz professionals.
Please join us on April 27th. Remember: "It's up to YOU to support live Jazz in Westport- It don't support itself!
