This show is a part of the Rivanna Roots Concert Series, presented by The Front Porch and Rivanna River Company. Doors open at 5 pm and music is from 6-9 pm. The Currys

The Currys have been making their mark on the indie scene since 2013, when Tommy Curry (vocals/guitar) left his teaching job to join his brother Jimmy (vocals/guitar) and cousin Galen (vocals/bass) in Charlottesville, VA. Their harmony-driven folk-rock sound shines across four albums: Follow (2014), West of Here (2016), and the self-produced This Side of the Glass (2019), all praised for their rich harmonies and infectious songwriting. During the pandemic, they launched the This Side of the Mic podcast and honed their production skills, leading to a series of sonically adventurous singles in 2021. In 2023, they expanded their lineup—adding Sebastian Green (drums), Sam Whedon (guitar), and Alex Rees (keys)—to record Keepers, released in October. The album blends their signature harmonies with a guitar-driven, indie-pop sound, nodding to influences from Sgt. Pepper’s to Jason Isbell. Always evolving, The Currys continue pushing their sound forward.

The Pollocks

The Pollocks are led by Jason Pollock, former guitarist and songwriter for Seven Mary Three. In the mid 1990s, Jason penned such hits as "Cumbersome" and "Water's Edge", sold a few million albums, and toured extensively. His new band was formed in 2014, when a friend told him that he needed to get back into the game, and present to the public his catalog of songs that had been piling up. The music can best be described as American rock, with the right amount of soul: The Rolling Stones meets Jefferson Airplane. There's some Velvet Underground, Bob Dylan, The Beatles and Neil Young thrown in for good measure. The psychedelic South, in three part harmony. The Pollocks will be performing as a trio for this show.
