Welcoming The Maddy Curtis Jazz Quartet to Batesville!

The Maddy Curtis Quartet is quickly becoming a must-see group of Richmond's jazz scene. They perform Maddy's own jazz/sometimes indie originals that harken back to the standards we know and love with a modern twist and earnesty in her lyrics and composition. The quartet consists of Maddy on vocals & ukulele, Jack Byrnes on bass, Quincy Harmon on piano & trumpet, and Stephan LaRue on drums. Critics have described Maddy's performances as "hauntingly beautiful" (DC Metro Theatre Arts) and "soulful beyond her years" (Simon Cowell, American Idol Season 9). And most recently, Necci at Richmond's Auricular described Maddy as "a soulful vocalist who brings a retro-jazz sound that feels like it stepped right out of the World War II era". Maddy's full-length debut album, How are you?, is set to release June 18th.
