This course is Child & Babysitting Safety certification for youth ages 11-16. This course offers an official certification card from the American Safety & Health Institute.

Please read all the information below before registering:

This is a BLENDED LEARNING COURSE (online course + classroom session.) The Babysitting Safety online video teaching component takes approximately 2 hours total. Upon registering and within 24 hours, the course will be emailed for the student to work on and complete prior to the class date. The Babysitting course is a light course and is geared towards youth. Students must complete the online course before attending the in-person skills class.

Babysitting course topics: Babysitting as a business; Safety and injury prevention guidelines and best practices; Leadership strategies to build confidence when responding to conflict; Tips on age-appropriate play; How to build rapport and stay engaged with children; Basic caregiving skills such as feeding, burping, diapering, and safe sleep practices; Basic first aid for common incidents. 

Note: CPR is not part of the Babysitting Safety course.  However, we are offering a Community CPR AED course on the same day, immediately following the Babysitting Safety course.  Please go to our webpage at https://safetyfirstjacksonville.com/register/ to find the event registration link for that course.  

Snacks/drink: Students may bring snacks and drink to class.  

After registering:
Within 24 hours (not automatic), you will receive an email from info@hsi.com with the link to your child's online course, to be completed prior to the class on Feb 8. Watch for Subject Lines: Link to Online Babysitting Safety Course.

After completion of the online course plus Feb 8 in-class participation, student will be issued the certification card from the American Safety and Health Institute, valid for 2 years. It will come in PDF format via email and may be printed and cut for wallet size, if desired. There will also be instructions on the PDF for downloading the student handbook.

Refund policy:
The base price fee of the course is refundable under the terms below.  The registration fees are non-refundable.

13-8 days before the start event, 80% refund. 
From 4-7 days before the event, 75% refund. 
From 2-3 days before the event, 50% refund. 
Day before and no-shows, non-refundable.
