An Evening with Wyoming Whiskey
Saturday, July 18, 2026 | 7:00 PM
Muddy Creek Music Hall | Sparta, NC
Join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating one of America's finest craft distilleries with Sparta native David Evans of Wyoming Whiskey.
A 2001 Alleghany High School graduate, David earned his B.S. in Natural Resources Management from Western Carolina University before serving as Alleghany County Recreation Director. His love of the outdoors eventually led him west to Wyoming, where he has spent more than six years with Wyoming Whiskey. Today, David oversees whiskey maturation and warehousing, working with every stage of production—from grain to glass—and has recently expanded into sales and marketing as the distillery continues to grow.
While Wyoming has become home, David says nothing compares to returning to the Southern Appalachians, making this tasting an especially meaningful evening.
Throughout the evening, David will guide guests through a tasting of three exceptional Wyoming Whiskeys:
🥃 Wyoming Whiskey Small Batch
🥃 Wyoming Whiskey Double Cask
🥃 Wyoming Whiskey Outryder
Each pour will be thoughtfully paired with a house-made tasting bite from the Muddy Creek kitchen:
• Smoked Trout Crostini with maple cream and pickled apple
• Smoked Salmon Toast on pumpernickel with whipped goat cheese
• Smoked Stuffed Jalapeño with sharp cheddar and bacon
More than just a tasting, this is a relaxed workshop-style experience featuring stories from the distillery, whiskey education, food pairings, a few surprises, and plenty of time for questions and conversation.
Tickets are $25 per person and include:
• Three guided whiskey tastings
• Three chef-prepared pairing bites
• Presentation by David Evans
• Surprises throughout the evening
Whether you're an experienced bourbon enthusiast or simply whiskey curious, this promises to be a memorable evening of great spirits, delicious food, and hometown hospitality.
