The Folk Project Streaming Tuesdays concert series presents Spencer LaJoye

Spencer LaJoye makes queer indie folk music for everyone — looping crystalline vocals over a weathered acoustic guitar with a wink, a story, and a whole lot of heart. A classically trained violinist with Broadway instincts and a theology degree on the wall, Spencer grew up leading worship in Southwest Michigan before coming out as nonbinary and finding peace as a post-Christian. Their music traces that journey — through disillusionment, discovery, and deep feeling.

Their viral anthem “Plowshare Prayer” and award-winning releases like Remember the Oxygen and Shadow Puppets have earned them national acclaim.
