Folk Project Special Concert presents Peter Yarrow with Christine Leon
Peter Yarrow, singer, songwriter, guitarist, and tenor voice in the legendary trio Peter, Paul and Mary, will be performing a Special Concert at The Troubadour Acoustic Concert Series on Friday, April 5th at 7:30 pm.
Few groups in any genre lasted longer or amassed a more loyal following than Peter, Paul and Mary. During its legendary career, the trio won five Grammys, produced thirteen Top 40 hits, including eight gold and five platinum albums, and in 2006 received The Songwriters Hall Of Fame’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
Peter, Paul & Mary was a supergroup of equals — three lead singers whose signature harmonies and emotional dynamics were branded on our national consciousness and in memories in such songs as “If I Had a Hammer,” “Puff the Magic Dragon,” “Blowin’ in the Wind,” and the wonderfully snarky “I Dig Rock and Roll Music.” The social and political import of their music was capped by their historic performance at the March on Washington immediately following Martin Luther King Jr.’s legendary “I Have a Dream” speech. In 2006, their final album featured the country hit “Don’t Laugh at Me,” which Yarrow later used as the basis for a successful anti-bullying campaign.
On occasion, The Folk Project presents a very special concert at a special price. These are nights to remember. Peter Yarrow made musical history. Catch him on Friday, April 5th at 7:30 pm at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road in Morristown, New Jersey
