FREE Lunchtime Concert | Michael Barnes Hallowe'en

About the Event

TOC presents Lunchtime FREE Concerts every FIRST, SECOND, and THIRD Wednesday of the month. Our gift to the community for over 56 years, join us in person or on our Youtube Channel.

Michael Barnes, organ

It's creepy and it's ookey! Organist Michael Barnes performs his annual Halloween concert featuring Bach's Toccata & Fuge in d minor, Gounod's Funeral March of a Marionette, and many more macabre musical favorites.

WATCH THE LIVESTREAM!

Michael Barnes is the award-winning accompanist, on piano, harpsichord, and organ. He accompanies the Pacific Youth Choir, and is also Organist at Temple Beth Israel in NW Portland. He is a member of the American Guild of Organists, Organ Historical Society and Guild of Temple Musicians. He is the Senior Organist of Westminster Presbyterian Church (since 1992) and head Organist at Temple Beth Israel (since 5760.) He also programmed TOC’s Lunchtime concerts from 1988 to 2020 for which we are eternally grateful. And he is also a very amateur harpist.

Helping Keep the Music Free
Free music. Shared support.

TOC Lunchtime Concerts are free to attend thanks to the generosity of people who believe music and community should be accessible to everyone.

The Old Church Concert Hall is a nonprofit organization. Donations help support free concerts, preserve our historic 1882 landmark, and create opportunities for artists and audiences to gather and connect through live music. They also help sustain the exhibitions, conversations, and performances that make this building a cultural home for Portland.

If you're able, please consider making a gift to help keep programs like this free and open to all.

TOC's free programming is made possible through the support of the Oregon Arts Commission, The James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation, The Autzen Foundation, the Joseph E. Weston Fund, The Wyss Foundation, and individual donors who believe music and culture belong to everyone.
