PEOPLE BEHIND THE MUSIC
Selections from the JWF Artist Portrait Project
Every music community is built by people - those on stage and the many others whose work makes the music possible.
Launched in 2020 by the Jeremy Wilson Foundation (JWF) in collaboration with photographer Norm Eder, the JWF Artist Portrait Project has grown to include more than 500 musicians, producers, promoters, venue operators, stage crew, and other members of the music community across Oregon and Southwest Washington.
The project reflects JWF’s commitment to the people behind the music. Since 2010, the Jeremy Wilson Foundation has supported musicians and music industry workers facing health-related challenges through financial assistance, guidance to other available resources, and help accessing and navigating health care. The portrait project extends that spirit of support: every participant receives professional photographs they may use to promote their own work at no cost
PEOPLE BEHIND THE MUSIC presents a small, curated selection from this ongoing body of work. Together, these portraits offer a glimpse of the remarkable range of people whose creativity, labor, and commitment sustain our region’s musical life.
This is not the end of the story. The portraits, and the community they document, continue to grow.
