For the 11th season, IN A LANDSCAPE: Classical Music in the Wild tours the American West. Mountain tops, old-growth forests, and sunny meadows replace the traditional concert hall in the series featuring pianist Hunter Noack on a 9-foot Steinway concert grand piano. Listen through wireless headphones and wander afield with the music as a soundtrack to your experience in the wild.
About this Landscape
The IN A LANDSCAPE concert on Schweitzer Mountain takes place on a high plateau in northern Idaho’s Selkirk Mountains. Guests ride the Schweitzer chairlift to the concert site, where wide, open views stretch across neighboring mountain ranges in Montana, Washington, and Canada, and down to Lake Pend Oreille, Idaho’s largest lake.
Schweitzer Mountain Resort offers hiking and dining options at both the base area and the top of the lift, making it easy to spend time on the mountain before or after the concert.
This concert takes place on the ancestral homeland of the Kalispel and Coeur d’Alene peoples, as well as the Cayuse, Umatilla, Walla Walla, and Ktunaxa peoples.
