THE THRILLS, THE CAHOOTS & SWELL BAND
The Thrills are the DC area's sharpest band playing music mostly from the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s. Their repertoire is chock full of timeless songs and uncommon original numbers that strike a chord with those who still value tunefulness, boss rhythms, and most of all, FUN. Practically all the cool genres are represented here - Rock and Roll, early Rhythm & Blues, Soul, British Invasion, Surf, and even a bit of Classic Country – all done with fresh arrangements that will have you singing along and dancing the night away. The Thrills dig deep to touch you with their energetic and tight delivery featuring an intertwining dual
guitar framework rare in its subtlety and intensity. As their many longtime fans will attest this band has refined this approach and boy does it work!
The Cahoots are the acoustic duo of DC-area stalwarts David Kitchen and Arch Alcantara.
Influenced by American roots rockers and their British counterparts, their music is a hyper-melodic intensely rhythmic mix of heartfelt originals and too cool covers featuring strong vocal harmonies, expert guitar playing and foot drumming. Both Arch and David play in several other bands seen in both fine venues and dives alike throughout the area.
Known for its kitschy, cool vibe, Swell Band is an audience favorite! Molly Morrison‘s silky vintage style vocals are accompanied by award-winning guitarist David Kitchen's smooth and artful playing. Eric Leifert and Wil Cameron round out the rhythm section consisting of Bongo-infused beats. And all-around treat for the ears and groove of the soul.
The ensemble puts a unique spin on bangers from is including Vintage Swing, Latin Blues 60s to 80s favorite originals and more from Etta James to Amy Winehouse; Elvis to the Eurythmics, audiences love the bands distinct set list, vast repertoire and sophisticated musical style.
