The Neighborhood Politics Suite
composed by Sam Epstein and Machado Mijiga

 

Neighborhood Politics plays an original suite of eclectic music, The Neighborhood Politics Suite, composed specially for this duo performance.

 

The current ensemble is a collaboration between Sam Epstein and essential Portland multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and educator Machado Mijiga (machadomijiga.com).

 

Sam Epstein is a Portland, Oregon-born musician with roots across the Pacific Northwest including formative years in Pendleton, OR; Seattle, WA and Walla Walla, WA. He returned to Portland in 2016 to pursue greater expression and community through music and art.

 

Neighborhood Politics is an evolving ensemble project that expresses modern life in Portland. Past members include Charlie Brown III, Robert Rodriguez, and Dae Bryant.

The Old Church Concert Hall is a nonprofit organization. Donations help support free concerts, preserve our historic 1882 landmark, and create opportunities for artists and audiences to gather and connect through live music. They also help sustain the exhibitions, conversations, and performances that make this building a cultural home for Portland.
