This course is Child & Babysitting Safety + Community CPR AED (Infant, Child, Adult) certification for youth ages 11-16. This course offers two official certification cards from the American Safety & Health Institute.

Please read all the information below before registering:

This is a BLENDED LEARNING COURSE (online course + classroom session.) The Babysitting Safety online video teaching component takes approximately 2 hours total. Upon registering and within 24 hours, the Babysitting Safety online course will be emailed for the student to work on and complete prior to the class date. It is a fun course and is geared towards youth. Students must complete the online course before attending the in-person skills class.

Babysitting course topics: Babysitting as a business; Safety and injury prevention guidelines and best practices; Leadership strategies to build confidence when responding to conflict; Tips on age-appropriate play; How to build rapport and stay engaged with children; Basic caregiving skills such as feeding, burping, diapering, and safe sleep practices; Basic first aid for common incidents.

The Community CPR AED material will all be taught in the classroom. There is no online course for the CPR part. 

Community CPR AED course topics: We will teach and practice CPR for infants, children and adults, use of the automated external defibrillator (AED) and how to help a person of any age who is choking.

Lunch: Students should pack a sack lunch to be eaten in class.

After registering:
Within 24 hours (not automatic), you will receive an email from with the link to your child's online course, to be completed prior to the class on Jan 4. Watch for Subject Line: Link to Online Babysitting Safety Course.

After completion of the Babysitting online course plus Jan 4 in-class participation, student will be issued two certification cards from the American Safety and Health Institute, each valid for 2 years. These will come in PDF format via email and may be printed and cut for wallet size, if desired. There will also be instructions on the PDF for downloading student handbooks for both Babysitting Safety and CPR AED.
