SMEAR CAMPAIGN with SKELP!
SMEAR CAMPAIGN is an alt-rock/post punk band in the DMV area. We formed in 2023 and have had a few lineup changes, but we have solidified into a 4-piece. Dave Scie plays drums and vocals. Caleb Carr plays bass. Brandon Norcini plays lead guitar and vocals. And I - Billy Black - lead vocals and guitar. We play all originals and throw in a cover here and there. We are currently playing shows all over the DMV and we sometimes wander outside of our backyard, so check out our schedule and come see us!
Wanna know why we're called Smear Campaign? Maybe someday I'll tell ya!
We have a number of songs we will be releasing for streaming over the next several months.
SKELP was formed in September 1995 by singer/guitarist David McEwan (former from the D.C. based band Belfire). Some of Skelp’s higher profile shows include an opening slot at The Black Cat with Supergrass, the last night at the “Old 9:30 Club”, The Metro Café with Cyclefly and other notable shows in DC.
Skelp, at its core, is a song driven, punk rock band with pop sensibilities. The Anglo-American component is part of the band’s charm. Depending on one’s record collection, recent converts may compare Skelp to The Jam, The Pixies, The Clash, Husker Du, The Afghan Whigs, and Social Distortion.
Current Skelp Members:
• Dave McEwan – Vocals and guitars
• Aaron Kujawa – Bass and vocals
• Chris Broadway – Drums
