About Concert for the Animals: A Pop Music Songbook:
Originally created in 2018 by a volunteer at Gray Face Acres, a senior dog rescue in Haymarket, VA, the event was envisioned as a unique fundraising opportunity. A second Concert for the Animals was held in 2019 to benefit the Middleburg Humane Foundation. Due to overwhelming interest, the concert returned in 2024—and now, once again, in 2025!

The extraordinary lineup for the 2025 show is:
CO-HEADLINERS:

JAMIE GOODSON
Originally from Northern Virginia, Jamie is an actor, musician, and dancer who knew from a young age how she wanted to spend her life. Encouraged by her parents to live boldly and passionately, she grew up performing professionally in Washington, D.C., before earning a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.

Now based in NYC, Jamie's greater purpose as a performer is to inspire radical empathy, connection, and support for all people. Also a singer-songwriter, yoga teacher, avid foodie, and environmentalist, she strives to bring authenticity, adventure, and curiosity to everything she creates.

Jamie has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the D.C. area, including Ford's Theatre, Arena Stage, and Signature Theatre—where she appeared in the acclaimed 2024 production of Hair. Most recently, she starred as Lola in the world premiere of the new musical FINN at the Kennedy Center.

Her single STAR is now available for streaming.

CAROLINE McQUAIG
Another Northern Virginia native, Caroline is a NYC/DC-based performer, storyteller, and songwriter who began performing at an early age. She was admitted to the prestigious Marymount Manhattan College in New York City, where she earned a B.A. in Theater Performance.

During her senior year, with showcase fast approaching and no summer stock roles lined up, she decided she needed something to show for herself. She turned to a long-neglected love—songwriting. Bringing together fellow singer-songwriters, she created a concert series called Siren Songs.

After two years of hosting Siren Songs shows every few months at venues like The West End Lounge, Pianos, Rockwood Music Hall, and Jammin’ Java, her friends convinced her it was time to record the music she had been sharing. With the help of producer Corey Kline, her melancholy acoustic poems transformed into full-fledged pop songs. Her debut EP, Underground Summer, is now available for streaming on all major music platforms, where listeners can also follow her for new releases.

Post-COVID, Caroline has discovered a passion for coaching young artists, teaching them the lessons she wishes she had known when moving to New York to pursue theater.

JULIEN XUEREB
French guitarist and singer Julien honed his musical skills at the prestigious Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University after studying at the Conservatory of Grenoble. Over the years, he has had the pleasure of performing for esteemed clients such as Google, Amazon, Kaiser Permanente, The Boston Consulting Group, and Accenture, among others.

Julien's versatility shines as he tailors his musical style to each performance—whether singing traditional French music, interpreting American standards, or creating captivating instrumental pieces. He has released two albums of original compositions: Introspection and Musical Vibes. The first album features solo classical guitar, while the second incorporates vocals (in both French and English) alongside a full band.

Beyond performing, Julien is an active mentor and educator, offering private guitar lessons in both French and English to students in Georgetown and Adams Morgan. In 2024, he headlined An Evening in Paris at the French Embassy and was a featured performer at the 3rd Concert for the Animals: A Pop Music Songbook. For the 2025 show, in addition to singing and playing guitar, he will also serve as Music Director.
