For the 11th season, IN A LANDSCAPE: Classical Music in the Wild tours the American West. Mountain tops, old-growth forests, and sunny meadows replace the traditional concert hall in the series featuring pianist Hunter Noack on a 9-foot Steinway concert grand piano. Listen through wireless headphones and wander afield with the music as a soundtrack to your experience in the wild.

About this Landscape

Fort Ross State Historic Park sets the stage for a dramatic cliffside concert above the Pacific Ocean. This weekend coincides with the Annual Pilgrimage of the Russian Orthodox Church, offering a rare opportunity to experience the park’s layered history in motion.

Presented in partnership with the Fort Ross Conservancy, the park reflects the living culture of the Kashia Pomo and Graton Rancheria people, as well as its Russian colonial era and subsequent ranching period from 1842 to 1972, now preserved and interpreted through the Conservancy.

The IN A LANDSCAPE concert site is reached by a path through forest and past the historic fort, opening onto a grassy bluff overlooking the ocean. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to experience the Russian Orthodox pilgrimage and historic festivities. Coastal conditions can include wind and ocean mist.

Concert FAQs:

Accessibility
The walk from the parking area to the concert site is 350 yards on a paved path to the fort, and then the path turns to gravel from the fort to the point. The concert site is on uneven grassy ground . Accessible parking available at the site in front of the fort. No shuttle will be provided.

Parking 
There is a $10 vehicle entry fee - carpool and save. If paying in cash, please bring exact change.

Seating 
Bring your own chairs or blankets.
No seating provided.

Food & Beverages
Outside food and drink are permitted. Bring a picnic! No food will be available for purchase.

Dogs
Leashed dogs with a maximum leash length of six feet that are friendly and well-behaved are permitted everywhere in the park except the cemetery, orchard and Sandy Cove (beach). Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. dogs are allowed

Smoking
Prohibited at all IN A LANDSCAPE concert sites.

Refunds & Cancellations
All ticket purchases are final. There are no refunds unless IN A LANDSCAPE cancels the performance. The show goes on regardless of weather.
