Conceived in the daydreams of adolescence, Deaf Andrews has blossomed from their roots, into a unique sonic flower of indie pop rock. Emerging from Charlotte, NC, the band is the creative collaboration of five friends—Nick Hayes (vocals), Mike Sherrard (guitar), Ross Schumann (bass), Andrew Kingsley (guitar), and Braedon Nelson (drums)—each bringing their own unique perspective and energy to make music that is both personal and universal.
With a dedication to pushing creative boundaries and connecting emotionally, Deaf Andrews prioritizes capturing the raw, electrifying energy of their live performances. The result is a sound that is both organic and direct, channeling the spirit of classic rock and roll while embracing the experimental freedom of modern indie pop. With each release, Deaf Andrews continues to carve out their own space in the musical landscape, offering listeners a rich and dynamic experience that is as thought-provoking as it is electrifying.
The band’s latest double-single, marks a new chapter in their evolving sound. With their tracks "Wait on Me" and "Small Talk," Deaf Andrews continues to showcase their ability to blend catchy indie pop-rock with introspective, emotionally charged lyrics. "Wait on Me" playfully captures the tension of anticipation, weaving together vulnerability and hope through infectious hooks and layered instrumentation. Meanwhile, "Small Talk" takes a darker yet thoughtful approach, examining the awkwardness and disconnection that can arise in casual relationships with a punchy rhythm and a deeper lyrical undertone. Both tracks reflect the band's unique talent for turning personal experiences into relatable, engaging music that resonates with listeners on a deeper level.
The Third Floor
The Third Floor is an indie rock/folk band from Columbia, South Carolina. The band, composed mostly of Seniors at the University of South Carolina, was formed in their dorm rooms on the third floor of the Capstone building in Late 2021. The band members originally bonded over a shared love of classic rock acts like Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, The Beatles, and other more present-day artists such as Mt Joy, The Backseat Lovers, and The Stews. With Ryan writing most of the band's originals with only the help of his Washburn Acoustic guitar, the band has many softer pieces with a rock twist, but by no means do they shy away from letting loose to put on an electric, high-energy performance. Over the last 3 years, the band has built up a repertoire of originals and have released 6 singles so far. They plan to release their first album within the next year. In October of 2023, the band performed for 500+ students to open for COIN at the University’s annual Cockstock festival. Since then they have had played all around Columbia at venues such as Jake’s, Breakers, New Brookland Tavern, The Koger Center. They have also branched out to other cities in the southeast including Charleston SC, Charlotte NC, Raleigh NC, Knoxville TN, Lexington VA. In March, the band performed at their biggest music festival, the St Pats in Five Points festival in Columbia! To stay up to date with what the band is up to, follow their Instagram page!
