5th Annual Christmas Jazz Celebration with the Visions Jazz Ensemble

SundayJazzBrunch@SILO combines with the SILO Auto Club’s Annual Member Christmas Party with a Christmas Jazz Celebration featuring the Visions Jazz Ensemble led by Sam Butler and Garrett Fasig, the 2022 and 2023 winners of the Hoagy Carmichael Award at Indiana University, joined by three of their IU classmates and with special guest vocalist, Emma Hedrick! Together they will present jazz arrangements of classic Christmas songs.

About Emma Hedrick
Emma Hedrick is an award-winning vocalist, composer, and bandleader from Indiana. Emma aspires to take her audiences through the story of each song she sings and strives to use the voice in traditional and nontraditional ways. She recently returned from two years abroad in the Netherlands and is working on her debut album, “Newcomer" a collection of originals based on her experiences abroad, to be released in the Summer of 2025. This project is funded in part by the Pathways To Jazz grant, a donor-advised fund of the Boulder County Arts Alliance.

Known for both voice and composition, her songs have been awarded Semi-Finalist in the International Songwriting Competition and Honorable Mention in the Jazz Education Network’s Young Composer Showcase. In 2019, she was awarded 3rd place in the Ella Fitzgerald vocal competition. She received 7 Downbeat Student Music Awards for Jazz Voice throughout high school and college. She has performed nationally and in Europe, including performances at the Indy Jazz Fest, Rochester International Jazz Festival, Elkhart Jazz Festival, Telluride Jazz Festival, St. Petersburg Jazz Festival, as a part of the Aspen JAS Academy directed by Christian McBride, and in the Jong Metropole tour of the Netherlands and Germany conducted by Chris Walden. She completed her Bachelor's and Master’s of Music at the prestigious Frost School of Music and Royal Conservatoire, The Hague, respectively. In 2017 and 2018, she was a National YoungArts Winner in Jazz Voice.
