About the Event

For the 11th season, IN A LANDSCAPE: Classical Music in the Wild tours the American West. Mountain tops, old-growth forests, and sunny meadows replace the traditional concert hall in the series featuring pianist Hunter Noack on a 9-foot Steinway concert grand piano. Listen through wireless headphones and wander afield with the music as a soundtrack to your experience in the wild.

ABOUT THE LAKE COUNTY WEEKEND EXPERIENCE
For the first time, IN A LANDSCAPE presents a weekend experience in Lake County, Oregon, Hunter’s home away from home. The mini-series begins Friday night beneath dark skies at Summer Lake Hot Springs, continues Saturday afternoon at PLAYA Arts and Science Residency, and concludes Sunday afternoon at Fort Rock State Natural Area. These sites sit within a vast high desert landscape at the northwest edge of the Great Basin, shaped by long distances, open land, and a deep sense of quiet—one of Oregon’s most remote regions,

ABOUT THE PLAYA CONCERT
Saturday afternoon’s concert takes place at PLAYA, an arts and science residency situated at the edge of Summer Lake in Oregon’s high desert. The site occupies a 75-acre campus that hosts art/sci residencies, place-based workshops, and public programs, with ponds, wetlands, grass fields, and walking paths extending onto the lakebed at the northwestern edge of the Great Basin on the ancestral homeland of the Yahooskin Paiute and Klamath peoples.

ABOUT THE PLAYA WEEKEND EXPERIENCE
The PLAYA Experience weekend includes two nights lodging as well as a brunch, wine and cheese event, PLAYA anthology, and more. Stay at PLAYA to immerse in the sights and sounds of this remarkable environment before and after the concert.

Reservation links for the PLAYA Experience and for information on  Summer Lake Hot Springs lodging options  can be found on our Lake County Lodging page.
